Spiritual Revival & Spiritual Awakening

Parents, ask your children, “What is the difference between spiritual awakening and spiritual revival?”

“Spiritual revival is God’s quickening visitation of his people, touching their hearts and deepening his work of grace in their lives” (J. I. Packer), whereas spiritual awakening is when the wider society is impacted by many coming to faith.

Three Steps in Spiritual Awakening

What are the three recipes for spiritual awakening mentioned in Jonah chapter 3?

1. There must be faithful preaching and faithful hearing of the Word of God.

2. There must be repentance and belief.

3. There must be fruit in the life of the person.

PRAY

—Pray that God would save you if you are not saved.

—Pray that God would revive His church and save people in our community.

—Pray for other churches around the world that God would use them to be lights in their communities.
