Finance Committee Chairperson

Luke was born and raised in Pierre Part, LA. He was raised in a Christian home by his parents, Joe and Cheryl Sedotal. They both faithfully taught him the gospel and modeled Christ in the home. By the grace of God, he received Christ as Lord and Savior at a young age. He began attending Nicholls State University in 2003 and got involved with the Baptist Collegiate Ministries. There he was discipled and began to develop a love and desire to serve in the local church. He also met his beautiful wife, Sarah, during his time at Nicholls State. They were married in 2009. He enjoys spending time outside, whether it’s hiking, fishing, golfing, or just sitting by a fire. His greatest desire is to see the people of God transformed by the Spirit of God through the faithful teaching and preaching of Word of God.

Jerry Rivet

Jerry Rivet

Men’s D-Group Leader
Sunday School Teacher

Jerry is from Thibodaux, married his high school sweetheart, Mandie, in 2000, and they now have 3 wonderful children—Cass, Neily and Adeline. He was saved in 2006 at the age of 29 and is extremely grateful for Steven Scrivner and Kevin Celestin being concerned enough about his life as a believer to pour all they knew into him. It has given Jerry a great passion for discipleship and building spiritual relationships that will last for eternity. He believes the more we encourage and aid each other to love and serve Christ and His church the more He receives the glory, honor and praise that He so greatly deserves because “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him!” (Piper)

Tony Ledet

Tony was born and raised in Pointe-Aux-Chenes, Louisiana. On New Year’s Eve 2006, he married his high school sweetheart, Lauren, and they now have 5 children—Abram, Ephraim, Adelaide, Chaim, and Eliza. Tony grew up attending a variety of churches and denominations, but it wasn’t until he was a teenager that he began to understand partly the beauty of the Gospel and would take several more years for him to truly embrace the glorious Gospel and repent of his sins. God worked within him a love for His Word and a desire to teach and preach it to others. He has served as a youth minister in 2 local churches before joining here at FBC Thibodaux where he now serves as our Sunday School leader. His desire is to help equip our teachers to be able to study and teach in a way that will bring glory to God. He also desires to see those who attend Sunday School learn how to study God’s Word through the faithful exposition of it in Sunday School. As a result, his hope is that lives will be changed as boys and girls and men and women are exposed to the beauty of Scripture and its relevance in their lives.

Gerard Lavergne

Worship/Arts Minister

Born and raised in southern Louisiana, Gerard grew up in a Catholic home. He went to church his entire life, but never had a relationship with God until he was 14 years old. That’s when he surrendered his life to Him. Since then he has done his best to follow where God leads him to go in every aspect of my life. Gerard has been in ministry for 12 years of his life and 10 of those have been on staff here at FBC Thibodaux as the Worship/Arts Minister. He has a Music Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a concentration in Worship. His goal at FBC Thibodaux is to faithfully combine God’s word with excellent music to help us express our deepest desires to God. His wish for anyone who comes or would come to FBC Thibodaux is that they would be able to worship God in spirit and in truth thus desiring Him more through their worship.
Robyn Williams

Robyn Williams

Administrative Assistant

On December 24, 1984, Robyn gave her life to Christ, joined the church, and was baptized. Her life was forever changed as she began a new life in Christ. She was unaware at the time that God was preparing her through her banking position as a Bookkeeping Supervisor to fill the secretarial / financial position here at FBC. She resigned from her banking job of 15 years through the leading of the Holy Spirit. A few years later, in March 1999, she was called to work here at FBC. She counts it a privilege and a blessing from God to serve Him and His people here in this ministry using the gifts He has given her. To God be the glory as He continues to equip her for His service. She enjoys fishing, camping, working out and spending quality time with her family.
