Youth Ministry

Basecamp - Youth Ministry
Purpose: The purpose of our Youth Ministry is for these students to know Christ, follow Christ, and share Christ. We want our students to know the gospel and submit to Christ as Lord and Savior as we teach and preach verse by verse through the Scriptures. We also want our students to be following Christ daily by devoting themselves to the Word, time in prayer, and commitment to the local church. We also want them to share this great gospel with their friends. Every part of our ministries revolve around this from Sunday School to Wednesday night youth service, and our small groups.

Men’s D-Group

Ministry

Men's D-Group

Teaching Men to be Satisfied in Christ”

Purpose: At FBC Thibodaux, our men’s discipleship ministry exists to follow Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:18-20 to “make disciples” that was faithfully carried out by Paul in 2 Timothy 2:2 by charging Timothy in the way of discipleship. Discipleship has been a way of life for God’s people from the beginning and will continue with us and others until Jesus returns.
FBC Thibodaux has a “Discipleship Pathway” beginning with the expository preaching of God’s word in the pulpit during corporate worship, to more intimate inductive study and discussion led by our gifted teachers in small groups such as Sunday School, to our most intimate form of discipleship that we call D-groups (discipleship groups).
In men’s D-groups, trained men meet with 1-4 other men roughly every other week for 12-18 months to thoroughly study the gospel, walk through key foundational doctrines, and impart biblical study methods of interpretation so that men may be able to fully nourish on God’s word, effectively lead their families, plug into the local church where they are gifted and called, and be able to replicate the process with other faithful men. We build intimate relationships and accountability with each other inside and outside of group meetings by living life together. This intimate form of discipleship, as seen with Jesus, Peter, James and John, has accelerated the spiritual growth and service of our group leaders, and we desire the same for all other men in our fellowship.
